27-July-2007 (Daily Mirror-FT)
MillenniumESP’s Gayan Lokumanna became Sri Lanka’s first Oracle Certified Master (OCM), thereby joining an elite membership of less than 50 OCM 10g members worldwide. Lokumanna is attached to MillenniumESP’s Oracle team and has been working as a Technical Analyst at MillenniumESP for the past four years.
Peter D’Almedia, Chief Executive of MillenniumESP, said, “We’re proud to have Gayan on our team. It has been a phenomenal effort. His dedication to Oracle and his ability to attain this top level certification confirms the world-class skills of the people at MillenniumESP.’
According to Oracle University, which conducts the OCM examination, achieving this certification puts an Oracle technologist in the most elite group of database professionals in the world. The Oracle Certified Master is the highest credential an Oracle professional can earn, and recognizes achievement in mastering advanced skills.
Lokumanna’s field of specialization includes High Availability and Disaster Recovery, Real Application Cluster, Dataguard, and Maximum Availability Architecture. His focus is on the Telecom and Financial Services Industries.
“This was a tough challenge but with the right knowledge, dedication and extensive practical experience, I was able to achieve this recognition,†Lokumanna said.
Madhura Perera, Head of Technical – Information Management Practice at MillenniumESP, says that Lokumanna’s achievement is by far the best from MillenniumESP. “MIT has achieved a lot of milestones in the past. We were the first to implement Oracle top end technologies such as Advance replication, and Real Application Clusters in the country,†he says. “But producing an OCM is by far the best we’ve achieved. This is a result of Gayan’s dedication and commitment and MIT’s continues investment on people and skills. This will definitely help us to bring more value to our customers.â€
