OpenArc School of Business and Technology A'pura branch celebrates five years

The Anuradhapura branch of the OpenArc School of Business and Technology celebrated its' fifth anniversary recently. 

Having commenced operations in 2004, the Anuradhapura branch of the OpenArc School of Business and Technology was able to provide computer education to thousands of students, teachers and other professionals during the past five years as the leading computer institute of the North Central Province.

The OpenArc School of Business and Technology Managing Director Vijith Sinhabahu commenting on the completion of five years said: "We did not open branches in all districts as it is the common practice with computer training institutes. When you have an extensive branch network, it becomes difficult to keep them up to the required standards.

By now, the Anuradhapura Branch of the OpenArc School of Business and Technology has become the leading information technology training centre in the North Central Province. Our school is the only institution in the North Central Province that prepares students for the BIT degree examination of the University of Colombo," he added.

The Anuradhapura branch of the OpenArc School of Business and Technology has provided free training in Diploma in Software Development and Diploma in Computerised Drafting to a large number of youth in the North Central Province through the Distance Education Modernisation Project (DEMP) of the Ministry of Education. Most of the youth who completed this training have found employment.

Other than the training courses mentioned above, the Anuradhapura branch in conjunction with the Ministry of Education has started a project to prepare a large number of school teachers in the North Central Province for the International Computer Driving Licence. 

It conducts training courses on Diploma in Graphic Designing, the Certificate Course in Computer Assembling and Hardware and MS Office at present.
