The Virtusa Apprentice Program is an industry orientation program that allows an apprentice to get trained in a specific area of interest that will enhance their knowledge and skill to face global challenges and expectations. The program was initiated to bridge the gap between academic learning and the competencies required by the IT industry allowing an individual to put ‘theory into practice’ and use their academic knowledge to devise solutions to customer requirements.

Speaking about the value of such a program, one of the apprentices Ayesha Ansar said, “As a fresh graduate, the idea of working full time at a leading organization left me intimidated. Virtusa Apprentice Program was the ideal set up to boost my confidence to face the challenges that many years at university never tackled. The Apprentice Program covered many essential points, whether it be coding practices, small tricks of the trade or the nitty-gritty’s of being a Software Engineer. In addition to addressing the technical aspects involved in the development track, the program also provided much insight into personal development. Many thanks to the training team for providing graduates like me with the perfect foundation to a very promising career.”

Anyone who has completed or is currently studying for a BSc program in any field is eligible for this program, though preference is given to Computer Science graduates. After completing the program, the apprentices have the opportunity to work in Virtusa.
