Quality Summit to benefit the IT-BPO Industry

One-of-a-kind Quality Summit has been organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM) to bring together the industry giants in the pursuance of quality as a differentiator for the Sri Lanka ICT-BPO sector. 

With the developing interest in the ICT-BPO landscape worldwide, Sri Lanka is poised to enter the market with a focus on verticals and quality. As of recent, there has been considerable interest and attraction from global corporations to deliver IT-BPO services out of Sri Lanka Sri Lankan IT companies have also products software products which have won international accolades due to innovation and quality. To date, over 30 IT-BPO companies have gained internationally recognized formal quality certifications. Many of them have been supported by grants awarded by the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka.

The event scheduled to be held later this month, has an exciting line-up of speakers and topics. CEOs, senior managers, and quality practitioners will have the opportunity to gain insights into global best practices in quality, local case studies on successful adoption, and get the chance to interact with experts.

SLASSCOM Board Director and Quality Forum Head Mr. Mano Sekaram stated that, “We aim to promote Sri Lanka as a leading destination for quality and testing related activities. Through such an event we hope to draw out all CEO’s, CIO’s, the decision makers across companies.”

He went on to say that all participants stand to benefit largely at this summit. This is because the heads of companies whose decisions prove vital in the development of the company will get a better understanding on how to leverage quality and testing while also gathering invaluable information which will aid them in all future endevours. They will be educated on quality and testing as a line of business and most importantly identifying and differentiating themselves in the market where novelty is given prominence. Quality and testing is an integral part of the IT industry and hence should be given its due recognition.

Quality practitioners form an important part of an organization’s value chain. They become the customers’ voice within IT-BPO organizations ensuring the end product meets the required quality standards. As customer supplier business models keep evolving together with technology advancements, the role of quality practitioners becomes challenging and engaging.
