Lanka BPO Academy, JobsNet ink deal
The Lanka BPO Academy (LBA), the island’s first and only Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) capacity building training organization with exclusive international BPO Certification programs today announced that it has entered a partnership with the government supported body Sri Lanka JobsNet (Rakiya Piyasa). The Academy signed its partnership with JobsNet at an event organized at Sri Lanka JobsNet. Lanka BPO Academy (www.lankabpoacademy.lk) joined the elite league of 40+ nations who are now on the BCI HCMS21 global standards on BPO human competence when it signed a partnership two months ago to become Sri Lanka’s exclusive partner for BPO Certification Institute, Inc. (BCI), which offers the widest range of BPO certifications across more than 400 global locations.
The LBA-JobsNet partnership was signed by Panitha Ratnayake Head - Business Development & Marketing of JobsNet and Yasas Vishuddhi Abeywickrama CEO of LBA. The JobsNet officers and Lanka BPO Academy management team including Managing Partner Dharshana Illamperuma were also present.
Speaking about the partnership on the occasion, the CEO of Lanka BPO Academy, Abeywickrama said "We have conceived Lanka BPO Academy as a forerunner of the state-of-the-art and the global standards in BPO training in our country and we are determined to rapidly create an island wide network of "BPO talent factories". One of the key needs in the market is to keep on nurturing and enhancing the talents of this demand constrained industry"
Speaking further, he said, "This partnership will help us to assist job seekers that come to JobsNet to transition into jobs easily. The BPO sector, Customer services area and Call Centres are severely facing the issue of finding suitable resources. At the same time, there are hundreds of job seekers that can’t find suitable jobs due to employability issues. Through this partnership we can bridge that gap. We will help JobsNet by taking in their job seekers into training programs and then placing them in professional jobs".
Speaking on the occasion, JobsNet’s Head of Business Development & Marketing Panitha Ratnayake expressed the confidence that BCI and The Lanka BPO Academy, together with the support of the local stakeholders like JobsNet will be able to convert Sri Lanka into a reservoir of global-class talents. "We are truly glad that we now have a place where we can send our jobseekers that are looking for jobs in the growing BPO sector as well as customer service specialization. Unlike most other educational qualifications and training programs, LBA is highly industry and job focused and that is the reason we decided that JobsNet could have a fruitful relationship with a novel training institute like LBA. We are also impressed by their young team that really understands the needs and mindset of our jobseekers", said Ratnayake in his address.
