SLIIT hosted the National Conference on Technology and Management (NCTM) on the 27th January at the institutes Malabe Campus. The event, considered to be the successor to the SLIIT Research Symposium which was held for the last six years consecutively, ventured into the spheres of Management and Technology, thus broadening the breadth and depth of research areas covered by this event.

TNS recently announced the results of its first Employer Branding Study in Sri Lanka. This year’s study ranks Unilever Sri Lanka as the most preferred employer of choice followed by John Keels, Brandix , MAS and Virtusa in the top five.

SLIIT hosted a workshop on the 29th November on Interactive Multimedia Design Technology, with special guest speaker Professor Klaus Nicholas Schmidt – Visiting Professor, College of Applied Technology, Illinois State University - USA.

SLIIT, the pioneer in the field of Information Technology in Sri Lanka, also offers degrees in Business Management and Electronic Engineering, and has devised unique scholarship schemes designed to maximise students’ potential while providing a valuable boost for their academic progress and development.

Police have sought the assistance of the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) to obtain details of people who operate pornographic websites, which allegedly feature local men and women, the Children and Women’s Bureau told Court yesterday.

Suraj Prasanna Kulatunga, a grade 11 student of Don Pedric Maha Vidyalaya, Horana obtained the first place receiving a gold medal and Rs 50,000 in cash for his creative robot machine at the All Island Inter-School SLIIT Robofest 2011, the robotic competition organised by the Electronic and Computer Engineering Department of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, (SLIIT) held in September 2011.
