The report’s findings were based on a 121-criteria evaluation of commercial and open source vendors that deliver integrated service-oriented architecture (SOA) governance solutions. This report follows two other related SOA reports in which WSO2 was cited by Forrester Research as a strong performer: The Forrester Wave™: Standalone SOA Management Solutions, Q4, 2011 report2 published December 2, 2011, and The Forrester Wave™: SOA Service Life-Cycle Management, Q1, 2012 report3 published January 6, 2012.

WSO2 recently announced that it has joined Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the non-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within cloud computing.
As a CSA member, WSO2 will join the corporate member advisory council to provide guidance into strategic CSA initiatives. Additionally WSO2 team members will complete the requirements to achieve the CSA Cloud Security Knowledge Certificate.

The report’s findings were based on a 51-criteria evaluation of commercial and open source vendors that deliver standalone service-oriented architecture (SOA) management solutions. Significantly, WSO2 scored 4.40 out of a possible 5.00 points for product architecture.

WSO2 today announced that it is now a full member of the OSGiTM Alliance. A Open Source Web Services conference scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka starting today will feature IBM's Chief Scientist in India Dr. C. Mohan as well as the creator of Enterprise Integration Patterns, Google Engineer Gregor Hohpe. WSO2CON, the second annual developer event hosted by Web Services company WSO2, is slated to be held between September 12 and 16 at Water’s Edge, Battaramulla. The event will comprise 22 guest speakers who will make their presentations over the course of five full days.

A US headquartered software firm which has its main development centre in Colombo has won the contract to make the applications required by eBay USA, a US$ 4 billion dollar online auction house.

WSO2 announced today that it has been recognized as a 2011 SD Times 100 award winner in the Database and Integration category. SD Times identified WSO2 as one of the “top leaders and innovators” in the software industry, helping developers to “build the integrations that allow data to interact with applications and services, whether on the ground or in the cloud.” This is the fourth year in a row that WSO2 has been named to the SD Times 100 list. WSO2 also was recognized as a winner in both 2010 and 2009 in the SOA & Middleware category and in 2008 in the Middleware category.

Colombo-based WSO2, a ‘middleware’ (software that connects computer programmes) production firm is on a steady growth path and looking to expand its business to Europe and Australia, according to officials. (In the computer industry, middleware is a general term for any programming that serves to "glue together" or mediate between two separate and often already existing programmes.)

With the recently received fund of US $ 6.5 million, WSO2 is planning to expand its businesses while further expanding its global footprint. The company recently opened an office in California and will setup another office in New York by the end of the year. The funding round was led by Quest Software Inc. and joined by investor-Intel Capital.

WSO2, the lean enterprise middleware company, announced that it has been awarded the European Identity Award 2011 in the Cloud Provider Offerings category by analyst group KuppingerCole. The award recognizes WSO2 for WSO2 Identity as a Service, citing the multi-tenant open source cloud service for its OpenID and XACML support and its innovative features, including the ability to migrate from on-premise to a full cloud service. This award was presented on May 11, at the European Identity Conference 2011 in Munich.
