Ridgecrest - Quantitative Analysts

Quantitative analysts will work directly with the founding partners, who have 30 years of experience in the financial markets in the U.S. and Europe. The analysts will research market dynamics, design models, and specify algorithms to implement those models. Research will focus on the equity, derivative, and fixed income markets. Most research will not be confidential and analysts will be encouraged to publish in peer-reviewed journals. The position includes budget for travel to appropriate conferences and symposia.
Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Physics, or Quantitative Finance. Math background should include Measure Theory, Stochastic Calculus, and Numerical Methods. Prior practical or academic experience in quantitative finance is helpful, but less important than the demonstrable ability to apply advanced math to practical problems. While this primarily is an analytic position, candidates should be comfortable with programming and the problems posed in implementing numerical methods. Facility with MatLab, S-Plus, R, or Mathematica is a strong plus. Experience programming in C, C++, or Java is also helpful. Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English is crucial.
Candidates should be willing and able to travel to major financial centers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
